So on Wednesday of last week I threw out a few applications. Two of which went to Quest because supposedly they pay the best for biomedical lab workers in the city. I've been watching them for a while because they only ever have night positions open that otherwise I could fill easily. Well they finalypost a “we want or will actually train a cytotechnologist” position which according to the job description I could actually do as well as the for once available daytime med tech position. Get a call back from them. The guy has the fucking GULL to say I don't qualify for it, despite being familiar with requirements for the ASCP for what they're talking about, and meeting all but the “one year of work in a certified lab” requirement. Guy fucking insists that I don't meet the requirements. Well I know he's lying to my face now, so let's see what the fuck he actually wants.
“Alright then, what the absolute fuck is this call about then?” I say omitting the words I really want to.
“Well would you be open to working med tech?” So now it's coming clear to me this is about restricting me to better fit their needs, my own be damned.. I told them I would be okay working that position (ignoring that I refused to apply to the night time ones for fucking months) so they're trying to get me to cave on the shift part they simply can not fill.
“Not on the overnight shift. I am physically incapable of that as an early riser. And even if I was capable I would not want to.” And this is true. I worked overnight for 6 months once and it gave me such terrible IBS it was interfering with my work, and such low energy over all I thought my suicidal depression was back. Fucker had the gull to shrug it off as “whelp I tried.” No you fucking blatantly lied.
I am so fucking done with this shit world and it's lack of basic humanity or co-operative nature of our fucking species. They don't even hide fucking you any more.
