Mechanics are paid by the job and a lot of them in my shop had a guarantee of 30 or 40 hours. My foreman lost the sheet with everyone's pay rate and what they plan on doing with them. They're basically taking it all away, except for one guy that goes to church with the boss. The foreman lied to me, he said the boot licker was losing his too. Is there anything I can do with this information besides make everyone angrier? The bootlicker also has a guarantee of 50 hours instead of 40.
I liked the shop foreman and thought he was an honest guy too. I knew everyone above him was trash, but this kinda hurt. I would quit but, I have a personal car with the engine out right now.
It also says they were going to give the guarantee 90 days to expire, but they've cut it down to the end of the month, so the foreman and manager have decided to go even harder than the owner on the cuts.
They charge $200 an hour for labor and gross $400k a month.
