This last April I was fired from my low wage job. During the interview process I was promised a raise after 6 months and after 8 months, three attempts to get a raise and showing ample evidence I was being underpaid by about 7 dollars I was terminated. Now after financially screwing me for the duration of my employment, my previous employer has successfully blocked my unemployment benefits under the claim that tardiness led to my termination. This was something that was not mentioned in our final conversation and something that other employees got away with for years without termination. My current plan is to appeal this and stick it to my employer but I'm mainly wondering if anyone has any more advice as to do this successfully. I can offer up more details of wrongdoings and preferential treatment, I am just so upset that some people would stoop this low. Thank you!
