So, backstory: I applied for a position that was supposed to pay $70,000. Thought the job sounded interesting and that I could do better work than I do now. Get an email from them this morning saying that they’ve “unfortunately run out of budget room for salaried positions until mid July,” but they have plenty of unpaid internships available.
Look, this isn’t even about the money as much as it is the fact that they posted the position knowing they didn’t have the money to pay the advertised salary and then tried to flip it on the applicant to make them take an unpaid position. Just tell me you found someone else at that point. It is just a little insensitive to lure people in with a good paying salary and then say “sorry, we don’t have money but do you still want to work?”
I need to find a job and fast cause this job search has been a nightmare.
