something I think about sometimes is the people who created and also ensure our human societies are defined by inequalities and based on the premise of extracting resources instead of sustainability and community are also all miserable fucks too

Have you ever looked at Bezos before? Or Gates? Or any politician powerful enough to help change the world? They're all fucking miserable as shit too. Sure you can live your entire life distracting yourself with goals of becoming as wealthy or powerful as possible, but that feeling never goes away forever, the one that is like a sudden realization of what's the point. Yes all those complete losers are able to have more comfortable lives than ourselves, but at the end of the day, they're still just distracting themselves with shortlived and self-created motivations too. Instead of the ultimate human motivation-of working towards a world where humans have all needs met and life actually starts to look human again, Bezos chooses this and gets to fly to outer space-this guy's cool folks and pretend like he's reaching fulfillment and not just stuck in a loop of temporary stimulation. It wouldn't be hard at all to create a society that fullfills almost all human needs or gets damn near close. But it's a society that would've much more closely resembled the communities of indigenous peoples and not the invaders who murdered them because their society and economy required extraction and expansion and not sustainability and cooperation.

There's no amount of adjustments that can be made to preserve our natural world or equality that would ever be able to prevent the eventual complete destruction of all nature and have total equality. When capitalists and neoliberals tell you they can, they're lying to you and themselves. The entire system is based on a harmful premise that will eventually lead to its own demise.
