I work at a staffing company where payroll and billing go hand in hand. We were given a goal to get our billing percentage to 95% processed by December 9th and we'd get a nice bonus. According to the way our reports were set up, I was guaranteed to get that bonus as of Thursday afternoon. I checked the report again Friday morning… only for my percentage to be below 90%. I have screenshoted proof of where I was at Thursday afternoon. After a meeting on Monday, I had asked if my report was set up right and was told it was, only for our leadership to change it Thursday night.
I freaked out. I've busted my a$$ to get my numbers to where they needed to be only for the reporting to change to include the pay week we just paid on 12/9 with no way for me to get everything for that week billed due to the way certain invoices populate, including about one-third of them that can only be processed next week as invoices don't even populate until the following week. Our bonuses have always been calculated with a one week delay, so realistically we should have been bonused based on numbers thru week ending 11/26's results, not 12/3.
So now it's not guaranteed. My boss is going to report that no one made the bonus off of the numbers thru WE 12/3, despite our receivables being the lowest its ever been, having worked tons of overtime and our company having record profits. Then she's going to present the numbers how they should have been reported (thru WE 11/26) to show if we had reported how we normally do, nearly everyone made their bonus.
Needless to say, my leadership has lost my trust and I'm now looking for a new job, especially if I don't get this bonus.
