Rant:
She sometimes doesn't understand certain things if they're a joke or a real thing. And sometimes communication with her can be a bit off. She always blames me and lack accountability especially accepting her own mistakes because she gets stressed out (as what she told me). Also, she speaks a bit monotone and can go on with talking. Doesn't understand when to stop talking, like no social queue. And blames me that I'm the one at fault even when it is entirely her responsibility. It's toxic but I feel like she's a bit off. Like stupid kinda off.
Forgive me to sound mean but this is the same person that told me she touched a dog that says “do not touch” because it's a training dog. Woman got annoyed at her and told her not to touch the dog, and that there's already a huge sign. And my manager told the woman, “I know I shouldn't touch the dog but your dog sniffed my hand first. I couldn't hesitate but touch it.” And woman got even more mad at her. And she made it sound like it's the woman's fault by saying how hurt my manager was.
Also same person that used to work for a corporate retail store, and told me the manager from that store just hate her for no reason. That she got fired. She said she never made a mistake except the time she was giving away coupons that is only eligible for june to july when it was already october and has been giving it away since September. I asked her if they lost a lot in sales, she said, “60% loss not bad.” I told her, “don't you think that might be the reason you got fired.” She said, “no the assistant manager liked me, the manager just dont.”
I don't know man, losing 60% in sales because of giving away coupon is a big deal.
Ever since she started becoming a manager at my work, I noticed she had a power trip. Like the position got into her head. But the things she did in her past whether, personally or professionally, made me worried about working at my job. I'd be honest, just truly incompetent and inexperienced. Owner of the business didn't train her well. Just wing it kinda situation.
Ever since she became manager, we lost clients. Regulars don't like her and told my former co-worker that my manager is so awkward to talk to. And she seemed to always get in fights with some customers, for reasons like, “your manager blamed me this and that.” I just apologize on her behalf. But everyday I get yelled at for things I didn't even do. I told this to the owner but she just deflects my words.
I belief it's because the business owner is too afraid to fire my manager because my owner herself has a full-time job and can't afford a big loss of help. It's my first time working in a small business but it has the worst management. And it became manager vs employees.
