Sprained ankle at work, boss suggests I use wheelchair to continue working

Multiple people have tripped over our loose carpets at work and tonight I was one of them. I rolled my ankle really badly and after 30 minutes or so I told my manager I needed to go home and ice it. Being one of only 3 salespeople on the floor he first asked if I was serious, then suggested I use our ADA wheelchair to continue work and it would help sales because of sympathy. I refused and said I would walk it off. After 45 or so minutes I realized it was bad, like I currently can barely walk bad. I went home and sure enough, it’s swelling and turning different colors. I’m going to call out tomorrow and get a ride to urgent care for this obvious sprain. My question is, how hard is it to get workman’s comp for an on the job injury in california?
