Antiwork

Started a job after being a SAHM for 3 years. Am I just going to be tired all the time- work, eat, sleep, repeat?

I feel drained and it's only my second week of work. 8:30-5, 30 minute commute each way. Getting up, getting me and my daughter ready. Work takes up about 11 hours of our day. I'm exhausted by the time I'm home, at a little after 5:30. Rush to get dinner ready and tidy up whatever I can with the house, eat, then her bedtime routine and she's asleep by 8. At this point I'm exhausted and can only hang out with my husband for about 30 minutes to an hour before heading to bed. Asleep by 10, 10:30 at the latest. Only to wake up and do it all over again. For 17/hr. Is this what life is? Rushing through quality time with my family, not being able to just unwind, having atleast one of the weekend days be dedicated to errands and getting the house straightened out and ready…

Is this what life is? Rushing through quality time with my family, not being able to just unwind, having atleast one of the weekend days be dedicated to errands and getting the house straightened out and ready for the week? I'm exhausted. This is not normal. I want to spend time with my family.

(Recent immigrant to the US, but we do have a similar work culture in some private industries back where I'm from too. Though for the most part, it's much more laid back, shorter hours, and there are better support systems).
