Few years back I was working in a sales position for a company that had a takeover and received a new management team. When the new management team came in they threw a Christmas party (hadn’t been one the year before). Management told sales team holiday party gifts were field people to not put our raffle tickets in any of the items we wanted just keep in our pocket……… k fine whatever. Then 3/4 of the way through the new ceo stands up gives a speech and promptly said “the sales team wants to personally commit to growing the business in the new year so that we will all earn more.” Then the fucker by name calls us each and ask us what our commitment to the field guys to get more sales. Mind you thick fucker had never meet with or talked with the sales team just the managers get was calling out each sales person expecting them to stand up and give a commitment to the field people to get them more work. I gave some bs comment and left as soon as I said under the pretense that I had to meet a client and walk a job. When I left I had made it no less then a block and I called the competition told them who I was who I worked for me that I wanted to meet with the sales manager. We meet the next business day on Monday and I started two weeks later. Come full circle the old company has basically gone through the entire sales team either left like me or fired. It’s been glorious to watch….. we’re now in talks to buy them since they have hemorrhaged so much and are going under. Stupid fucking ceo.
