Stealing company time??

So I’m a truck driver and I just got called to my boss and found out they’ve been watching me on the cameras for the past month to see when I was clocking in and clocking out (we have a time clock app). Usually I clock in as soon as I park my car or if I have to call one of the other drivers to figure out the plan for the day (we do our own logistics which is no fun). I’ve always justified it by thinking if I’m texting or calling about work, I’m getting paid for it because that’s not personal time. They’ve been adding up minutes between when I clock in and when I start driving for the past month and then drop it on me that I’ve stolen 110 minutes or whatever. This has been a brutal season for deliveries and we’ve had to do an unbelievable amount of bullshit for the company in the past few months and it’s just incredible that they set up this sting operation (isn’t THAT stealing time?)

So they gave me a final warning today and took away my time card app. And for the record, i have negotiated my wage three times in the past year because I’ve been so tempted to leave for higher paying jobs. And they hate me a little more every time we negotiate
