Struggling at work to learn the material

When I got hired my boss had me do lots of training alone online with no direct follow up in terms of real world application. Eventually, they had me working half of my overall duties saying they can handle the other half easily and to just focus on my side. After two months, they’ve left and I have a new boss who is constantly mad at me for not fully understanding the material and not giving me any additional training or help. When it comes to learning the other half of my job, I’m frequently told to just stay away from that section because “speed is most important” so I’m RARELY allowed to help and learn that side. I don’t want to study it at home because I’m not being paid for that, but now they’re starting to expect me to run the entire place by myself for a few…

I don’t want to study it at home because I’m not being paid for that, but now they’re starting to expect me to run the entire place by myself for a few hours at a time. Am I just not committing enough in my free time to the material? I feel like it’s not my fault that I don’t know much still, since I’m constantly told I’m too slow to learn things during the work day when our numbers and pay are speed based. Should I call a higher up and explain I’m not being taught or just accept that I’m going to fail and be fired if I don’t use my personal time to study and learn. When hired I made it clear how new I was, but those managers have left and the new ones think I lied my way into the job. I’m just not sure it’s worth the stress and imposter syndrome I’m dealing with. I’m an optician btw. Any advice is welcome, if I just sound spoiled I apologize. I just want to not be considered a burden for wanting to be properly educated and not rushed through training to meet quotas and produce bad work.
