Two weeks ago, I was dismissed from my post in a UK call centre (remote) for Gross Misconduct. This is because I didn’t leave a note on a customer’s account after advising her of an overdue amount. The call dropped after this. She later phoned in to complain about it and I got the sack as a result. I’ve appealed the decision but they have upheld it due to my contract terms. I’m over it because the place is simply awful and I’m happy to be rid of it. Question is, should I expect this to have a detrimental impact on my career prospects? Will it come up on screenings?
