My grandfather in law passed away this past Sunday. I emailed my supervisor to let her know I would not be coming in on Monday to spend with family and Thursday and Friday for the funeral. Her response was “Oy. Do you have someone to cover you?” I ignored her. I work billing insurance claims, the work is not ground breaking in the slightest.
She texted me on my personal phone on Monday to tell me to put my out of office so any emails would be forwarded to her. Fair enough.
Then Thursday comes around. I’m at the morning service and I get another text from her. “So sorry to bother. Can you please forward me the email you sent to the case manager? The facility wants to follow up, thanks!”
I am quitting on Friday. This isn’t the first time she has been disrespectful or crossed boundaries, but she has definitely way crossed the line for me now.
