I have been working here 2.5 months, a cafe in Sydney. Boss pays cash/no super. He refused to pay holiday pay for 3 public holidays (Xmas day and the 2 days after) now I was kinda of willing to take this, but more recently he’s been verbally abusive, swearing, throwing his macho weight around and telling me about all the violent things he’s done in his life.
Basically just a person I don’t wanna be around and it’s getting worse. Issue is: I think the business is going under and I’m still owed 2 weeks pay so I don’t wanna quit right away as he may withhold pay, and Ill definitely fall behind on rent. any suggestions of how I go about this? I wanna make it swift and get what I’m owed but I also don’t wanna ruin his life. Thanks team. Don’t get me wrong I work hard but fuck work.
