All Americans who support abortion rights should organize—when and where possible—for a general strike to eliminate the increasing restrictions on abortion by conservative officials.

Organize with your coworkers, find out who is also troubled by these new laws being passed and the possibility that the Supreme Court will overturn Roe v Wade.

If you’re a student, try to organize a walkout. Pass out fliers and try to organize rallies and protests at your school or university.

More importantly, communicate with activists, comrades and others across the county. Ideas and tactics can always be improved the more we communicate. People in Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Georgia (where abortion rights are being restricted) can learn a lot from one another and what’s the most effective. Americans across the entire country should be in communication with one another both in their local communities and across the nation.

The more we communicate across the country, the more we can learn about what’s the most effective and the harder it will be for the anti-choice establishment to move forward.

There can also be coordinated strikes in major companies that stretch across numerous states (such as fast food restaurants and big box stores like Wal-Mart, Target, etc.). Workers scheduled to close or open across several states in numerous stores can all put super glue in the locks, for example, and an anonymous message to the press should be stated it was in retaliation to the restriction to abortion. Electricity could also be cut and toilets clogged. An organized affinity group could also do this in city halls and government buildings in the most conservative states.

Shutting down highways and other forms of disrupting economic activity will force the ruling powers’ hands.

Be sure to blow up videos of rallies and protests throughout the US on social media. Clever tweets and video essays are great, but real footage of real people in the streets are perhaps the most inspirational for people.

Find posters online to print out or design your own and spread them on walls, windows, street lamps, etc. Do not tape them. You can wheatpaste them or you can use condensed milk which can be found at grocery and convenience stores (usually in the baking section), typically in a can. Place your paste of choice in a wide-mouthed jar using a lid to make it easier to carry around. Take this with you to your chosen location(s) and spread the back of the poster with condensed milk or wheat paste with a brush, rag, sponge or your hands with rubber or latex gloves and place it on your chosen surface. Smear and cover the front with the paste, especially on the corners and sides. This not only makes it essentially impossible to remove by hand but has the added benefit of making it weather-proof. Doing this late at night is good, but the very early hours of the morning are less conspicuous. Be sure to dress like a jogger.

Too many anti-voting laws—not to mention gerrymandering—makes elections increasingly ineffective in struggling against conservative policies. The conservative rulers have to be afraid to pass laws that restrict bodily autonomy! This is the most effective way to get it to stop.

Organize. Fight. Win.
