I am a boss at a hotel. I frequent this subreddit to learn how to be the best boss possible. The audacity other bosses have to treat people like they are worthless amazes me. I frequently go around asking how everyone is doing. They will sometimes reply with “Oh well I have 2 rooms left to clean…” I will stop them and say “no, how are YOU doing? Do you need anything to make your job easier? Everything going ok elsewhere?”
Like just checking in on the human aspect of employees instead of “production per person” is something the new hires aren't used to. Just asking those questions has lead to a lot of forward thinking and new ideas to make cleaning and running the hotel easier for all of us.
It is exponentially easier to be nice to people than it is to be rude and mean. I stand in solidarity with the misfits and under-appreciated.
If this type of post is not allowed I understand, I just wanted to put it out there that people are listening.
