So I work in a parking garage and there you may think it is a chill job and for the most part it is but some people. I need to explain the system for any of this to make any sense.
The front desk at the hotels across the street make the parking keys. 1 key per vehicle. Key is directional on how it goes in, there is a large black arrow. Key go in, letting car in needs to exit before can come in again. A key that sees itself as in the garage cannot let another in. Same for exit. If key goes by phone/other key/wallet or ANYTHING magnetic it will decode. At this moment key holder is supposed to go back to the front desk.
Some people get argumentative and partly the reason my job exists!
I am just working my 2 weeks notice before I start a much safer job. Sitting in the office at 3am, watching YouTube, when the program we use shows someone having issues in the entrance lane. Card was reading “Card is faulty/Card Inserted Improperly”. I give the person a couple more tries. When the same message comes up, I go up to the person and try and help. When I get out there, they are aggregated. I take the Card and put it in properly and the machine gives me the same message. As I am doing this I hear a bang, something whiz by me and my ears ringing.
I turn to see what happened and there is person in the car with gun in hand. Finger of the fucking trigger.
This next part I got from reviewing camera footage. From the looks of it, I threw the key; yelled “shit” and ran into the office and called the police.
Yes this person was arrested, car towed. Police were here in minutes. Thank fuck. To part time I go for the rest of my time here.
Person dressed in full camo.
