Managers are like generals. The “good” generals will have a dozen accolades and medals they earned
by throwing their soldiers into the meat grinder to win battles while “bad” generals will do their best to keep their troops alive, earning the loyalty of their soldiers but the ire of top brass for not “getting results.” I am quitting cuz the good manager makes work a miserable place while the bad manager manages to strike a good balance between getting results from me while not making me feel expendable.
