(disclaimer: I changed jobs years ago but still get anti-union mail like every other month.)
Let's see the math here:
$16,500 over 30 years is….
$550 in dues per year, which is$46 in dues per month, which is$12 in dues per week, which is$0.30 in dues per hour.
Idk, seems like a super affordable deal to me, considering it got me better health benefits, better time off, overtime compensation, education creditstraining, better representation for employer related disagreements, negotiated wage increases, safer working conditions etc.
I miss being in a union, it was a net-positive experience for me.
