The Code of Hammurabi – more fair than our current lives!

See link. I just went down this rabbit hole for some reason. Really interesting stuff. #48. If any one owe a debt for a loan, and a storm prostrates the grain, or the harvest fail, or the grain does not grow for lack of water; in that year he need not give his creditor any grain, he washes his debt-tablet in water and pays no rent for this year. So, I'm thinking Covid and unemployment are similar here vis-a-vis rents and mortgage payments, right? There was a post somewhere about medieval peasants worked less than we do today. Hammurabi's Code is from ca. 1780 B.C.! Everyone has had it better than we do currently! Lol! Code of Hammurabi
