Hey guys so this is the context.
On May 15, they had to pay us the hours worked + commissions, after so much insisting, they paid us on May 16, the hours only. Today is May 19, and they still hasn’t paid us the commission check, everyday they say “today” they’ll pay us but they haven’t and now they say MAYBE they’ll pay on May 24. A co-worker got mad because she needed the money and spoke up on the groupchat asking why they delay it so much and have to lie a lot (because everyday there is a new excuse but the truth is they don’t have money, they’re late with the rent too) and she got fired. What should I do? I spoke up too but no solution. Another co-worker threatened to sue (because we suspect they won’t pay us, it happened like 3 years ago) and the manager said to try it because employees can’t sue for a commissions pay, only the hourly pay, is this true?
We are a wireless mobile retail employees.
