The company that runs the servers that were contracted by the company I work for had a fire at their facility yesterday, and their entire system went offline nationwide for more than 24 hours. Our entire shift had to be called off, no work can be done without the use of our computers. Instead of compensating us for the time lost that had nothing to do with us, they want us to use our earned PTO or vacation time to cover our wages. I'm not really sure if it's a legal problem, but I don't agree with the decision.
