I haven't gotten a 30 min break on any of my shifts since September, but most of my shifts are up to 6.5 hrs long. This is because unless you're on the clock for 7 or more hours (not including the time it takes to close down), you only receive a SINGLE 10 min break. It actually used to be 8 before, but for some unknown reason, they decided to be “kind” and move it down to 7. Almost everyone who closes now isn't getting a 30 because the managers have made it so that no one is working more than 6.5 hrs before closing.
I also know for a fact that my job doesnt have protocols for accident reports because people here have gotten seriously hurt and often it gets dismissed and brushed off. It might not have ever caused anyone life-changing injuries, but it is not a completely safe work environment to begin with so why there isn't protocols to begin with is bullshit.
The business has a high turnover rate (unsurprisingly) and someone recently quit (or was fired but I dont really know) because she figured out what she was getting herself into and she started openly bringing up all the shit wrong with this place. She also confronted the managers about unpaid training hours before leaving, and I 100% believe that was the case. I'm trying to find anywhere better to work because this job is the worst I've ever taken on quality and legality wise and
I want to leave without the threat of losing an income for too long.
