I am venting. If my post is low effort I wont complain if you remove the post.
I work for USPS in the clerk craft and boy the benefits and pay are pretty damn good for no college but its so draining. Constant overtime, come in on days off. Whats the point of working if you cannot enjoy life. The management there is also very frustrating to deal with even the nice ones. I hate the yelling. I honestly hate them and myself for being so stupid to get myself stuck there. I worked there for awhile but after this week of being able to visit my family and whatever I wanted really is pushing me to want change in my life.
I'm going to do what my mother told me to do when i graduated High School which is get into bookkeeping. She thinks my personality is perfect for it. I am calling my mother tomorrow (She did bookkeeping most of her adult life) on which direction to go regarding it. I have lots of college credits, I know there's certificates, and AA degrees. I'm going to ask her and as soon as i can find something that pays enough for me I am leaving. If I have to get a BA so be it.
Its not about the money I managed to get myself set into low cost of living. I just want to have a life again, I hate the toxic work environments. Even if its not bookkeeping Ill find something else.
