the moment I should’ve learned the owners don’t care about employees

I used to work at a McDonald's in my small rural town, the owners were this older couple who kinda played good cop bad cop, the husband was super nice and understanding while the wife was always a huge b word. Anyway I was a manager for them I worked there since I was 16 and at this point I was 20 or so. So one day I was making the schedules for the following week and the time rolled around for me to take my lunch so I clocked out and returned to the office computer to do some misc things while I decided what to have for lunch and play on my phone. The wife comes in and immediately is pissy and starts complaining to the other manager on duty why certain things aren't done yet, to which we had one person not show up so a few things didn't get completed granted we still had time to do them and those tasks weren't 100% necessary to get done ATM. So after explaining to her what happened the owner looks at me and is like “why are you playing on your phone?” My reply is “I'm on lunch and I decided to check time punches before I left.” She said ok and left it at that. I left for lunch and when I returned she was sitting in the chair looking at the computer when I set my stuff down she said “why did you like to me?” I asked what she meant and she said that I wasn't on my lunch because I haven't clicked in at all all day. Which was impossible since I had a print out. Well our system had check in place that you couldn't alter your own time punches do it removed yours from the list when you logged in. She was using my login and couldn't see my time punches. I told her this and all she replied was “oh” and not another word all day.

Sorry for the long story, I wanted to write this out because this was the moment in my McDonald's career I knew that the owners did not care even about the people that make sure the restaurant stays afloat.
