We work on commission. I've been with the company for almost 3 years, esthetician for 7 and leaving the beauty industry to work a more traditional 9-5. The beauty industry is notorious for having a high turnover rate and shit like this is why. We do highly skilled work (eyelash extensions) and it's difficult to replace experienced stylists. Many of my clients have told me they would stop going to this salon if I left and some have encouraged me to open my own salon. I'm also the second most senior employee and usually don't complain about policies but this was the last straw for me. I'm trying to be very gentle at first to see if they will budge.
