Been working at this local wealth management firm for 5 months fresh out of college, full-time, $20 an hour, normal hours. I was supposed to get a job offer 3 months ago, but due to my former company's absolute shit-show management, they just forgot about it, until I emailed my boss a month ago asking when I would hear something. FYI I emailed him because he works at a separate branch and no one in my branch dealt with my payment. He never responded. So naturally, that pissed me off, but I just let it slide because I didn't want to rock the boat. Until this Monday when we had a company meeting when he decided to offer me a salary position that yearly was less than what I would make working a year hourly. On top of that I would be required to move (I currently live with my parents), get certified, attend conferences, and do all the other shit that comes with being an investment analyst. I told him I needed time to think about it, he told me to take as much time as I need. Until two days later when he told me I had to decide by Friday. So I called him Friday and said that I was going to decline the offer. He got really offended and said that I only got the job because he doing a favor to my father to get me more experience (fyi he has never met or interacted with my dad), called me lazy for not wanting to work my way up and earn it like he did, and said that he regretted paying me $20 an hour because that set my standards too high and that I should've been paid $10, and then kicked me out of the office.
