Management demands work to be done.
That's fine but when it comes to be done we have no tools to do it. If x needs to be done we typically don't have the machinery. We are on old and aging gear. This causes several health and safety hazards.
I have had 2 work injuries in 6 months. One from using an old quadbike and pull trying to pull start it. The quadbike was leaking petrol over an extremely hot engine near the pull start. It burned the tops of my hands. This was extremely painful. The second injury was an Elbow/Neck strain from being instructed to pick up concrete warratahs.
Things at my workplace are just not being done correctly. We have been working at a site now for 3 to 4 months doing machinery and general operations. We have no workshop and barely have a makeshift break room. When your out doing work on the site there is no shelter and you just have lunch in the tractor, it's really sad.
I am being commended on how good my mowing cut is. Which is fine but it fails to point out that I am mowing with buggered equipment. The tractor breaks down regularly, the mower has been out of line for the last few mow rounds.
I recently hit a strainer on the vineyard. I suspect it may have been partly becuase my mower could not be put into line.
The money is good in my job. Don't get me wrong, but I still think it might not be worth it.
What do you guys think?
