Unsurprisingly, this was never actually a concern about work ethic or productivity. Musk and his fellow ruling class assholes simply prefer you unnecessarily commit a large percentage of your life to a commute that you hate just so their house of cards financial schemes don't fall apart and cost them money.
Remember: These people NEVER have your best interests in mind. If they claim to or even if they take action that benefits your lives it is ONLY because they see an opportunity to make money. You cannot trust their words and they'll NEVER stop trying to influence your opinions and behavior for their own benefit.
You have to ignore them and instead intentionally build the life that YOU want for yourself. If that means work from home, then work from home!
