The rule of law is kinda suspended in many industries once we clock in .

I was reading an article on balancing protest rights with the rule of law and came across this: “At the most basic level, the rule of law is meant to provide citizens with a stable social and political environment in which to carry out their lives. It ensures no one — individuals or governments — may exercise authority over anyone else at their whim.” I instantly was struck by the omission of workplaces/corporations. With a wink wink they are somehow indulged in this exercise of authority at their whim, so that capitalism may proceed apace. I mean there are laws. But at a practical level, I think most of us know our bosses hold an almost dictatorial power over us and we are often at the mercy of their magnanimity.
