Seriously. Screw every employer who says that. I remember applying for jobs between 2010 and 2019 and filling out dozens of applications a day. I remember going to interviews for local businesses and chains. It was industry standard that most employers don't call you and reject you or shoot you an e-mail: No contact means no job. It was that simple.
Now, I haven't been in the service industry market in years. I don't know if it's still like that but I remember the time when there was no reason to expect most businesses to contact you to reject you. I'm dying to know why businesses all of a sudden have a problem with this practice when they themselves made it a standard in the service industry (and some other industries too.).
This is some serious short term memory loss on their part. No contact means no job. It works both ways.
