They stalled my internship for months and now they told me they gave my position to someone else.

Back in August 17 I applied for an internship in Florida, and the company told me that I got the job. They gave me a company email, they gave a pseudo-contract for three months, stating my tasks and the dates in which I’ll work. Then they told me I’ll receive the real contract in Monday of next week, it’s been 3 months since then. For months I went to meetings and trainings for that position given by the company itself, consistently being told that I’ll start next week. And only yesterday they told me that the position that I was given to and was trained and discussed for months was given to someone else. They told me that I can work in another area with much less pay (120 dollars a week). Is that legal? Is there something I can do?
