Guess I’m being monitored.
I’ve been questioned today at my full-time job about my side-gig.
No, it has nothing to do with my full-time job.
I noticed upper management looking at my professional social media profile recently. I thought it was because I promote them on social when they ask, trying to give them more traction (I know, a mistake).
I work on gigs through a third party site that states an inaccurate response time, based on the first time I ever responded to a gig months ago. They questioned if I was working on that while working my job.
I don’t even take breaks during work (rarely do), and often skip lunch. Dedicate more than 40 hours a week towards it, taking on other team member roles, a growing list of responsibilities never addressed in my job description, training people, tackling upper-management projects, etc.
Still was questioned on somehow putting HOURS into each gig while full-time working?
This math ain’t mathing.
Good to know how upper management really feel. Puts a lot into perspective.
Any advice on what to do if they choose to tell me I can’t do my gig-work totally unrelated to my field, on my own time?
