I've been hopping from job to job lately because they've all sucked. I've been working at factories for the first time in my life and I've already lost 2 jobs in 2 months and I think I'm about to lose a third.
I live in the middle of buttfuck nowhere and job pickings are slim. I have a shitty car and can't drive far to work, but I've already lots every other viable job in the area. Don't even get me started on fast food. They “don't do full time” at any fast food restaurants here. It's all based on seniority so factory work is my only option for a secure paycheck.
I didn't want a job that had forced overtime but I had to take it because that's all there was. It's physically brutal work and I'm tired all the time already. I dont want to work any more than I have to
That being said, on Friday I was sent home because my supervisor never knows what the fuck is going on. My line was out of material and the other lines she would've had me work on were down
She said “if I send you home today I expect you to be here tomorrow”. She wanted me to give up my day off because she fucked up, so I no call no showed.
I already have various other strikes against me for being literally one minute late because my parking lot is small and some jackasses like to take up 2-4 parking spaces with one car, but yep totally my fault. I should've just showed up to work 20 minutes early to make sure there was an open spot for to park in right?
Anyway I can't afford to lose this job but I was pissed. I feel like this company want to own me and every second of my free time and I'm not into it. How can I stand up for myself and maybe not get fired, or at least go out dramatically?
