My work sneakily tried to relocate me, got me out of the province working a job supposedly for only “a few weeks”.
Get to said job, I’m given keys to an apartment instead of a hotel and I’m told that I’ll be taking over the testing lab full time here, I think it’s very unprofessional of them to do this to me as I have responsibilities back where I live, and the few days to a week off I used to get meant a lot because I could take care of personal things.
Anyways, I’m currently sitting in this apartment. Supervisor won’t answer my texts or calls and I’m stressed out, I know how it usually works out if you refuse to relocate, you end up losing your job anyways. So, do I go AWOL and drive 8 hours back to where I live and just ghost the company?
