I have pasted a review below for a company I interviewed with. I have worked conventional jobs my entire life. I may be over reacting to this interview but it hit me really hard. I have wasted energy in the past on employers, but now I have to waste energy on potential employers as well?
Don’t be nervous if you have an interview with NCSA, because it is my opinion that either you already know you got the job or you are an unwitting participant in a make believe interview.
I don’t know why it is customary for organizations to perform pseudo interviews with no intention of hiring, but that is the impression I got from my NCSA interview. I previously had an uncanny, equally patronizing interview with the prominent Metis organization based in Edmonton a few years back. Recently after reflecting on the the similarities between these interviews it jumped out at me that they were both a work of fiction! I was not asked about anything pertaining to my resume or cover letter, a seemingly tiresome topic because it was outside the scope of the questionnaire. At least one of my responses that I witnessed being penned was inaccurate in an unfavourable way. There were several other nuances that fuel my suspicions. Once the forms were filled out and the one sided transaction commenced there was only ambiguous statements about going forward beyond tidying up the paperwork. (such as a request to submit references who were never contacted.) I was ghosted without a courtesy email in both instances. I’m not even disparaging the likelihood that they primarily hire family and friends or how they spend their tax payer funded time. I am disheartened because there are many others like me who go through a great deal of preparation under false pretences just to subsidize these degrading bureaucratic performances.
