This sub got me a better raise

Before I read all your stories and advice you’ve given to others, I would have just accepted whatever raise I was offered and been grateful for it. Today was my review. They do their scoring 0-3 with a 2 being “meets expectations” and 3 “exceeds expectations”. Raises are based off how you scored. Now I know I’m good at what I do and that I’m easily one of their strongest workers. We’re short, they need me. So when I went in and saw a bunch of 2’s, I didn’t just accept it and move on. I pointed out all the ways I’m exceeding what’s expected of me. People come to me for help. I cover for others absences. I’ve improved several workflows over the last year.

I said, “With all these examples, I am NOT average. You just said you can depend on me and are proud of my work, but your scores are saying all my hard work you consider to be average. That’s discouraging. It makes me feel like I should stop going above and beyond if it’s not going to get any recognition.”

And they said I was right. They typed it back up with a new score and that’s the copy I signed.

It was easy, thanks to all of you!
