I am a manager at a company and a couple months ago I implemented a policy that all of my employees had to leave their cell phones on outside of work and consider themselves “on call”. It was mandatory that they answer all calls from me and come into work if asked without complaint. I did not offer any additional compensation for this. I even put a sign up in the break room stating this policy. I recently discovered that one of my employees took a picture of this sign and posted it to this sub. After reading the responses I realized how wrong this policy is and have since rescinded it. Thank you for making me realize the error of my ways. I just wanted the company to be successful and set some record profits this quarter.
