Thoughts on US Labor regulations (or lack of)

From an outside perspective (from the UK) it appears that a strong side effect of the poor employee protections in the US is that people are more ready to act in an unethical or negative way simply through fear of indiscriminate reprisal for saying no. ‘Business’ and unscrupulous owners/managers profit from a lowered sense of moral and ethical standards and civic responsibility.
