I’m a senior in college and currently working as a student teacher full time and preparing to graduate next month. My girlfriend got me a remote job for the summer to make money before I start my teaching career in the fall. Keep in mind that when I first spoke with “Boss”, I made it clear that school is my first priority until May and she seemed to be understanding and told me that the training for the job will be flexible. Fast forward three weeks later and I set up the computer and headset they sent me, took a drug test, and completed a TON of paperwork, and I started the first online training last night. It went ok, but they discussed a training that would be next week which would be mandatory. When I asked what would happen if you had to miss a training, I was told by “R” that it wouldn’t be the end of the world and that I should let her know as soon as possible.
So that’s what I did. I let her know that I would be on vacation (my FIRST since September and working full time teaching for free on top of taking classes full time) next week. Then I got an email from “Boss” telling me I’d have to attend or be fired. I’ve been putting up with this boss being incredibly aggressive, rude, and unprofessional via text and email for weeks to the point that I’ve been crying at night feeling like an idiot. I’ve never been spoken to the way this boss spoke to me. They made me feel so stupid. So I quit
