TDLR; HR person got fired and a new guy stepped in during my probation period- and I missed enrollment due to not getting communication I was supposed to receive and I’m tired of my job but am moving soon(ish) and should wait before switching jobs.
I work in a residential home. I hit my 90 days and was ready to get benefits only to discover I had been mistakenly told the wrong timeframe for enrollment , missing the insurance sign up I desperately need, and HR changed over- so the person who was doing all the signups and contacting everyone when it was time is far gone and the new guy just doesn’t do it, I guess.
It just really irks me that I was told I’d be provided more info closer to the time of enrollment and that the info wasn’t distributed due to this HR change. I’m already struggling at this job.
In a normal circumstance, I’d leave to find better work because this is is really dumb and screws me over, but my S/O was laid off and is looking for work an hour away and we will be relocating there soon. Could be next week, could be a few more months until he finds work and we move.
I could go through a few more months at this job, but this HR screwup is just the most recent struggle I’m having at work- there’s also the fact that I haven’t clicked with a single coworker of mine, and the lack of care that residents receive. I could also could find a solid temp job and work that instead. Who knows.
This HR change has been hell. None of the residents like him. None of the staff like him. He advertised being available when he introduced himself to us and said he’d keep his door open and it’s always shut and he never has time for anybody. I barely got in to talk to him initially, but we’re supposed to “try” to sign me up during my next shift – in the system that he says has the time restrain set and won’t likely be able to do it.
