Three timekeeping methods

So I’m sure this is going to sound really minor, because it’s just entering numbers, but it has become really tedious to do every single day. Before the pandemic, this is how the timekeeping for my contracting company worked: You come into the office, you sit there for 8 hours, you fill in your online timesheet, and you leave. No one comes to check if you are in the office or if you are even doing any work. As of the beginning of the pandemic, this is how it now works: -Continue using the online timesheet to fill out your time for every day of the week -On the 3/5 days that we telework, fill out an HR-created Excel spreadsheet to mark your time on telework days -On telework days, send a log-in email and a log-out email Every day.

As of the beginning of the pandemic, this is how it now works:

-Continue using the online timesheet to fill out your time for every day of the week

-On the 3/5 days that we telework, fill out an HR-created Excel spreadsheet to mark your time on telework days

-On telework days, send a log-in email and a log-out email

Every day. No filling in days in advance. No filling in days on the last day of the work week before the timesheet is actually due. Every day.

The online timesheet has a section on each day that allows you to make notes. And they have stated before that they don’t care about the times worked, only the duration. So why can’t we just mark our telework days in the notes in the single, online timesheet?

Am I being overly sensitive about this, or does this sound legitimately asinine to anyone else?
