TIL: Tendinitis, even in the leg, isn’t worthy of getting laid off by doctor

Due to a complicated work situation my boss wants a note before I can come back to work. I was laid off because I'm a seasonal worker which is where the confusion happened. Anyway due to repeated impact on my leg, unsure if it was a work injury but it certainly wasn't helping, I got a bad case of tendinitis where I had to go see a specialist to make sure I didn't royally fuck it up. But the appointment was after I got laid off so the stars aligned with being able to take it easy while it healed. But apparently if I hadn't been laid off the standard protocol is to just wear a brace and go to physical therapy until you are better. My ankle was swollen, I couldn't walk for long periods of time, before the brace I was limping to keep my ankle as stable…

My ankle was swollen, I couldn't walk for long periods of time, before the brace I was limping to keep my ankle as stable as possible, and even my cat lightly brushing up against it hurt like hell.

But I still would've had to work? The fuck is with that? I can only imagine what office workers would have to deal with when they are typing all the time. Brace + keep doing what injured you in the first place? What?

I guess I got real lucky.

Plus turns out my boss wanted a note because I asked my primary doctor for a note so I could stop doing what was aggravating it. So now I have an appointment to get that straightened out.

I guess moral of the story would be get a doctors note if possible and try to take legal action if your boss is an ass about it. Thank god my boss is just a narcissist and actually cares. 🤷‍️

That and the US health system really sucks. The only thing we have going for us is that we can get doctor appointments relatively quickly.
