My husband's grandma just passed and apparently he won't get paid AT ALL if he doesn't go to the funeral. He can't, his family lives over 500 miles away. There's no way we can afford a plane ticket and I know his family won't buy him a ticket.
So just because he can't go to the funeral they won't pay him. I understand every company has their own policies, whatever. I don't understand why these corporations get to control if someone can grieve or not without consequences.
Like my husband was told he'd get 6 weeks off when I had our daughter. He was DENIED for no reason.
