I work at a restaurant in a hotel in Florida, there is an automatic gratuity added to the bill at 19%. 1% of our net sales goes to the house as a tip out. Does anyone know if this is illegal? We don’t physically give this money away the way we we do when we tip out the bartenders, it’s automatically deducted from our paychecks. Thanks in advance for any advice or clarity.
