Today is a Public Holiday in my country and I am still working

In my country, the labor law dictates that companies are only obligated to honour 11 public holidays a year even if there are more than that. As a result, I am working in the office on a public holiday with no replacement leave or compensation. I'd be okay with my minimal free time being gone but the sheer inconvenience of having to ask the building staff to open up the building just for my company is kinda dumb to me. They had to turn on the central AC for the building for just one company. They had to open the parking garage for just one company.
