Today’s episode of demoralizing job search, brought to you by Sally Beauty Supply

Walked into my local Sally Beauty Supply store today because I saw online that they were hiring. It’s not something I was super jazzed about doing, but I figured it might be an easy part time job while I work on getting other things off the ground. I wanted to get a vibe check on the place before applying, so I walked in and asked the woman there (who looked like a manager maybe) about their opening. She looks at me and says, “Oh! Are you a professional?” I was pretty taken aback considering this is your basic shitty retail position. So I said, “a professional?” She asked if I went to school for anything, and I said no. P.S. I understand they often hire people in the beauty/hair industry, but it’s not a requirement to get a job there (according to the online listing) and I have plenty of non-professional experience/knowledge in the field
