Background about the company: The company is a new startup and there’s no HR department with proper rules/policies.
Background about me: 22M, just graduated early this year, and I’ve been working there for a couple of months and I report to this boss the most.
What happened:
I had a very high fever today, and I told my boss this morning that I can’t make it to the office, but, that I I’d still work from home and finish all my pending tasks for the day. I have no problem with working while sick, it’s just what he did after that got me thinking of quitting.
I did all my work today and closed my PC. An hour ago, an outage occured in our system and I wasn’t able to report the issue to him since (a) I was busy doing some other tasks I was assigned to, and (b) because I was very sick, I couldn’t focus and I wasn’t able to monitor and report the incidence.
He messaged me just now asking why I didn’t report X, and I have no idea what to say. He’s clearly pissed. He knows that I’m sick, I’ve let him know multiple times so I just can’t get over how inconsiderate he is.
What should I do? This isn’t the first time this has happened. I’m really thinking of quitting on the spot.
