I work part time as an AP clerk, and whenever our office manager doesn’t come in, I don’t come in. She’s been having car trouble and has been working from home a lot lately, which means my paychecks are tiny. I was also recently told I need to be more professional, code for I talk too much, so I’m scared if I ask for more hours it’ll lead into another talk about professionalism and leave me feeling like crap. Or worse, fired. Unemployment is not an option.
